Ireland flies Gypsies back to Romania
TIMISOARA A group of Gypsies has been taken voluntarily back from Ireland to western Romania. The 99 Roma, who included 36 children, arrived on Wednesday, escorted by more than 30 Irish police. They had been living in tents near a motorway before Irish authorities offered to fund their trip home. Baron Rostas, 40, who went to Ireland last month with his wife and two children, said he decided to return after failing to find work. None of the group had work permits. (AP)
