Moped mobsters strike again: Terrifying moment smash-and-grab thugs burst from Swiss watch shop and flee on moped as another is tackled by onlookers during brazen daylight raid in Regent St
Incredible footage shows a moped gang wielding knives and hammers fleeing after shoppers tackled one of the thugs during a raid on a luxury jewellers today. The thugs are seen running out of the watch shop and jumping onto mopeds, while one flees on foot and a fifth is wrestled to the ground by onlookers. Police confirmed that they had arrested a man following the raid on Watches of Switzerland in Regent Street, London . It is the third heist at the firm's West End stores in three months, with police making their first arrest since gangs began targeting the Regent Street and Oxford Street branches three months ago. Metropolitan Police said that the thugs were still able to make off with a selection of jewels before they were scared off by members of the public.

Presenter Laurel Irving (inset left) and cameraman Jimmy Cannon (inset with Ms Irving) were approached by a pair of muggers while shooting a pre-recorded segment (pictured main) and they threatened Mr Cannon with a gun and demanded he hand them the camera, only for Ms Irving to try to wrestle it back and demand they 'show her' the weapon. Mr Cannon convinced her to let go and the thieves escaped on bicycles.
