Na verdade, Brown não está diretamente ligado com este caso mas afirmou que esteve presente nos últimos momentos de vida de Brittanee, num esconderijo em McClellanville, EUA. Foi aqui que o presidiário admite ter visto Taylor, de 16 anos, e outros homens a violar a jovem. Neste momento a jovem tentou fugir mas foi imediatamente capturada e levada para uma casa de onde se ouviram dois tiros. As autoridades estão à procura de provas para dar início a um processo contra Taylor pelo crime de homícidio da jovem Brittanee Drexel.

Britain to begin taking Calais migrant children within days

LONDON (AP) — Within days, Britain will begin admitting hundreds of children from a border refugee camp on the French side of the English Channel, the U.K. government said Monday.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd told lawmakers in the House of Commons that the government would act with urgency to take in migrant children who have relatives in Britain.
France has been pressuring Britain to accept the children from the camp in Calais. Rudd spoke after meeting her French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve, who said Britain has a "moral duty" to take in "several hundred isolated minors with family in Britain."

Thousands of migrants fleeing war and hardship from countries such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have reached the Channel port town in the hope of making it to Britain.
France plans to close the slum-like camp where many live, which has become a flashpoint in Europe's migrant crisis.
Charities and religious leaders have urged the British government to take in hundreds of children before the camp is closed. French President Francois Hollande has said that will be before winter.
Rudd told lawmakers that the government had been waiting for a list of eligible minors from French authorities.
"The French, we believe, will now give that to us this week, and be in no doubt we will move with all urgency — a matter of days, a week at the most, in order to deliver on that commitment when we get it."

Women will be asked to show passports before giving birth at one of the country’s largest hospitals to cut ‘maternity tourism’.
Expectant mothers will have to provide papers showing they are eligible for free NHS care when they arrive for scans.
Those unable to do so will be referred to the Home Office. They could face deportation.
Managers at St George’s in Tooting, south London, said they were facing a growing problem of women flying in from Nigeria solely to have babies

Such abuse is thought to cost the NHS £200million a year for all types of medical treatment.
Women flying in to give birth is a common problem in a number of hospitals, particularly those close to Heathrow and in Manchester.
In one notorious case, Bimbo Ayelabola arrived from Lagos in 2011 to give birth to premature quintuplets at Homerton Hospital, East London.
The NHS failed to chase her in her homeland for the £145,000 costs.
The Department of Health issued new guidelines last year telling hospital staff to ask for passports or proof of identity from any patient before treatment. But few have obeyed because they are too short-staffed or take eligibility for granted.
Managers at St George’s, which serves a population of 1.3million, insist that women will not be turned away if they are in labour.
These must prove women have lived in the UK for at least six months, which means they are eligible for free NHS care. Without this, they will not be able to carry on with maternity treatment.
Jo Johnson, head of private and overseas patients at the hospital, said health tourism was costing it £4.6million a year.
In board papers obtained by the Health Service Journal, she said four in five overseas patients were absconding before paying their bills. She also said that agents in Nigeria were offering women money to buy flight tickets and come to the UK.
‘The problem is escalating within obstetrics and we have just been made aware that individuals are currently offering paid assistance to women in Nigeria to have their babies for free on the NHS at St George’s,’ she added.
A spokesman for the Department of Health welcomed the scheme but said hospitals should already be asking patients for passports.
And John O’Connell of the TaxPayers’ Alliance said: ‘The huge burden on hard-pressed taxpayers caused by health tourism on the NHS is simply unsustainable.’
But others said the policy might see women fleeing from places such as Syria being turned away.
Jessica Ormerod, of the National Health Action Party, said: ‘We are losing our humanity if we can think of excluding the most vulnerable in our society from a basic right to safe childbirth.’
The NHS is far more lax on eligibility checks than the systems of other European countries.
A spokesman from St George’s said it needed to be more vigilant and keep to the guidelines because it treated a large number of patients from overseas who were not entitled to NHS care.

Le premier ministre, Manuel Valls, a visité, lundi 10 octobre dans la matinée, avec le ministre de l’intérieur, Bernard Cazeneuve, plusieurs commissariats du département de l’Essonne. Il s’est, à cette occasion, rendu en fin de matinée sur les lieux de l’agression contre des policiers survenue samedi 8 octobre, à Viry-Châtillon, à proximité du quartier sensible de la Grande Borne. Comme il l’avait déjà affirmé lors de ses étapes, dans la matinée, à Savigny-sur-Orge, Athis-Mons et Juvisy, M. Valls a de nouveau assuré qu’il « n’y avait pas de zone de non-droit ».
« Ici, vous êtes à quelques mètres de la Grande Borne, il y avait des policiers placés pour surveiller ce carrefour où il y avait déjà eu plusieurs agressions et où il y a une caméra de surveillance particulièrement importante, c’est pour ça que, moi, je crois en la vidéosurveillance », a-t-il déclaré alors qu’il doit se rendre dans la journée au chevet des agents blessés.
Un policier se trouvait toujours entre la vie et la mort, lundi 10 octobre au matin, après cette agression d’une violence rare, visiblement préméditée et ciblée. Une agression dénoncée par l’ensemble de la classe politique, François Hollande en tête qui l’a qualifiée d’« intolérable ». Le président de la République s’est engagé à ce que « tout [soit] fait pour retrouver les auteurs et les traduire devant la justice pour qu’ils soient condamnés à une peine à la mesure de la gravité de leur acte ». Pour Bernard Cazeneuve, le ministre de l’intérieur, ces policiers ont été « confrontés à une bande de sauvageons qui ont agi avec lâcheté », et qui seront « rattrapés », a-t-il déclaré sur RTL le 10 octobre.

« Il aurait été empêché de sortir »
Les faits se sont déroulés samedi 8 octobre dans l’après-midi, autour de 15 heures. Deux équipages de voitures de police étaient en surveillance « statique », à un carrefour connu pour être un lieu d’embuscade pour de nombreux vols à la portière et agressions. Un carrefour situé à l’entrée de la Grande Borne, cité dure de quelque 3 600 logements pour environ 12 000 habitants, gangrenée par divers trafics, quartier d’enfance d’Amédy Coulibaly, notamment, le tueur de l’Hyper Cacher, le 9 janvier 2015.
Les policiers étaient à l’arrêt, stationnés, quand, selon les premiers éléments de l’enquête, dix à vingt personnes ont attaqué les deux véhicules avec des barres de fer ou des pierres, puis en jetant des cocktails Molotov à l’intérieur des habitacles. Un brigadier âgé de 38 ans et une jeune gardienne de la paix, stagiaire de 29 ans, qui faisaient équipe dans une des deux voitures, ont réussi à s’extirper rapidement. Le deuxième équipage a eu moins de chance. « Il aurait été empêché de sortir », explique une source policière, tout en précisant toutefois que cet élément doit encore être recoupé.
Attaque à la disqueuse
Les quatre policiers ont tous été grièvement blessés. La moins touchée est la jeune stagiaire, qui s’en sort avec vingt et un jours d’incapacité temporaire de travail (ITT). Mais le brigadier qui était avec elle a été brûlé aux mains et blessé aux jambes par des projectiles. Dans l’autre véhicule, une gardienne de la paix de 39 ans, mère de trois enfants, a été brûlée sur 15 % du corps, aux mains et au visage. Il lui a été reconnu quatre-vingt-dix jours d’ITT. Celui dont le sort est toujours incertain est l’adjoint de sécurité de 28 ans qui l’accompagnait. Lui a été brûlé sur 30 % du corps, dont les mains et le visage. Ses poumons ont été sérieusement touchés.
Le carrefour où stationnaient les deux véhicules de police avait été équipé, il y a plusieurs mois, par la mairie de Viry-Châtillon d’une caméra de surveillance, accrochée à un lampadaire. Cette caméra gênait notamment le trafic de stupéfiants et avait fait l’objet de plusieurs tentatives de destruction : une première fois à la disqueuse, une autre fois, au moyen d’une voiture bélier lancée sur le poteau lumineux. « Mais ce n’est pas la caméra que surveillaient les policiers, ils veillaient juste à la sécurité de la population », précise-t-on à la direction générale de la police nationale.
« Tueurs de flics »
L’enquête devra déterminer le mobile exact de cette attaque ciblée, les conditions dans lesquelles elle a été préparée, le nombre d’assaillants présumés et leur rôle respectif. La tâche s’annonce d’ores et déjà délicate, dans un quartier sensible comme la Grande Borne, où prévaut la loi du silence. Les auditions des policiers ont déjà eu lieu. Celles des témoins et du voisinage sont en cours. Les images de la caméra de vidéoprotection devraient être elles, en tout cas, rapidement exploitées.
« Ces agressions à l’encontre des policiers par des “tueurs de flics” doivent être punies des peines maximales et ne doivent pouvoir faire l’objet d’aucun aménagement. Les sanctions judiciaires actuelles ne conviennent pas », a réagi Philippe Capon, le secrétaire général du syndicat UNSA-Police.

« Ici, vous êtes à quelques mètres de la Grande Borne, il y avait des policiers placés pour surveiller ce carrefour où il y avait déjà eu plusieurs agressions et où il y a une caméra de surveillance particulièrement importante, c’est pour ça que, moi, je crois en la vidéosurveillance », a-t-il déclaré alors qu’il doit se rendre dans la journée au chevet des agents blessés.
Un policier se trouvait toujours entre la vie et la mort, lundi 10 octobre au matin, après cette agression d’une violence rare, visiblement préméditée et ciblée. Une agression dénoncée par l’ensemble de la classe politique, François Hollande en tête qui l’a qualifiée d’« intolérable ». Le président de la République s’est engagé à ce que « tout [soit] fait pour retrouver les auteurs et les traduire devant la justice pour qu’ils soient condamnés à une peine à la mesure de la gravité de leur acte ». Pour Bernard Cazeneuve, le ministre de l’intérieur, ces policiers ont été « confrontés à une bande de sauvageons qui ont agi avec lâcheté », et qui seront « rattrapés », a-t-il déclaré sur RTL le 10 octobre.

« Il aurait été empêché de sortir »
Les faits se sont déroulés samedi 8 octobre dans l’après-midi, autour de 15 heures. Deux équipages de voitures de police étaient en surveillance « statique », à un carrefour connu pour être un lieu d’embuscade pour de nombreux vols à la portière et agressions. Un carrefour situé à l’entrée de la Grande Borne, cité dure de quelque 3 600 logements pour environ 12 000 habitants, gangrenée par divers trafics, quartier d’enfance d’Amédy Coulibaly, notamment, le tueur de l’Hyper Cacher, le 9 janvier 2015.
Les policiers étaient à l’arrêt, stationnés, quand, selon les premiers éléments de l’enquête, dix à vingt personnes ont attaqué les deux véhicules avec des barres de fer ou des pierres, puis en jetant des cocktails Molotov à l’intérieur des habitacles. Un brigadier âgé de 38 ans et une jeune gardienne de la paix, stagiaire de 29 ans, qui faisaient équipe dans une des deux voitures, ont réussi à s’extirper rapidement. Le deuxième équipage a eu moins de chance. « Il aurait été empêché de sortir », explique une source policière, tout en précisant toutefois que cet élément doit encore être recoupé.
Attaque à la disqueuse
Les quatre policiers ont tous été grièvement blessés. La moins touchée est la jeune stagiaire, qui s’en sort avec vingt et un jours d’incapacité temporaire de travail (ITT). Mais le brigadier qui était avec elle a été brûlé aux mains et blessé aux jambes par des projectiles. Dans l’autre véhicule, une gardienne de la paix de 39 ans, mère de trois enfants, a été brûlée sur 15 % du corps, aux mains et au visage. Il lui a été reconnu quatre-vingt-dix jours d’ITT. Celui dont le sort est toujours incertain est l’adjoint de sécurité de 28 ans qui l’accompagnait. Lui a été brûlé sur 30 % du corps, dont les mains et le visage. Ses poumons ont été sérieusement touchés.
Le carrefour où stationnaient les deux véhicules de police avait été équipé, il y a plusieurs mois, par la mairie de Viry-Châtillon d’une caméra de surveillance, accrochée à un lampadaire. Cette caméra gênait notamment le trafic de stupéfiants et avait fait l’objet de plusieurs tentatives de destruction : une première fois à la disqueuse, une autre fois, au moyen d’une voiture bélier lancée sur le poteau lumineux. « Mais ce n’est pas la caméra que surveillaient les policiers, ils veillaient juste à la sécurité de la population », précise-t-on à la direction générale de la police nationale.
« Tueurs de flics »
L’enquête devra déterminer le mobile exact de cette attaque ciblée, les conditions dans lesquelles elle a été préparée, le nombre d’assaillants présumés et leur rôle respectif. La tâche s’annonce d’ores et déjà délicate, dans un quartier sensible comme la Grande Borne, où prévaut la loi du silence. Les auditions des policiers ont déjà eu lieu. Celles des témoins et du voisinage sont en cours. Les images de la caméra de vidéoprotection devraient être elles, en tout cas, rapidement exploitées.
« Ces agressions à l’encontre des policiers par des “tueurs de flics” doivent être punies des peines maximales et ne doivent pouvoir faire l’objet d’aucun aménagement. Les sanctions judiciaires actuelles ne conviennent pas », a réagi Philippe Capon, le secrétaire général du syndicat UNSA-Police.
