A Swedish detective who has triggered a row by blaming violent crime on migrants has gone one step further and accused politicians of turning a blind eye to the problem because of 'political correctness'.
Earlier this month Peter Springare, who has spent more than 40 years in the police, aired his anger on social media when he was told not to record the ethnicity of violent crime suspects.
Springare, 61, who is based in the central city of Orebro, wrote: 'Countries representing the weekly crimes: Iraq, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Somalia, Syria again, Somalia, unknown, unknown country, Sweden.
'Half of the suspects, we can't be sure because they don't have any valid papers. Which in itself usually means that they're lying about your nationality and identity.'
Prosecutors launched an inquiry, suggesting he had incited racial hatred, but later dropped the charges.
Now Springare has told The Sunday Times: 'The highest and most extreme violence - rapes and shooting - is dominated by criminal immigrants.
'This is a different criminality that is tougher and rawer. It is not what we would call ordinary Swedish crime. This is a different animal.'
In his Facebook post Springare wrote: 'I'm so f***ing tired. What I will write here below, is not politically correct. But I don't care. What I'm going to promote you all taxpayers is prohibited to peddle for us state employees.'
He wrote: 'Here we go; this I've handled Monday-Friday this week: rape, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, rape-assault and rape, extortion, blackmail, off of, assault, violence against police, threats to police, drug crime, drugs, crime, felony, attempted murder, Rape again, extortion again and ill-treatment.
'Suspected perpetrators; Ali Mohammed, mahmod, Mohammed, Mohammed Ali, again, again, again Christopher... what is it true. Yes a Swedish name snuck on the outskirts of a drug crime, Mohammed, Mahmod Ali, again and again.'
Springare said he was due to retire soon and therefore no longer feared the disciplinary proceedings which might be brought against a younger officer for disobeying their superiors and raising the issue.
Sweden hit the headlines recently when US President Donald Trump warned of crime caused by migrants and told a rally in Florida: 'Look at what's happening last night in Sweden.'
He was mocked on social media and forced to admit that he was referring to a report on Fox News rather than an actual event.
Sweden's Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said he was 'surprised' by Trump's comments.
But Springare said: 'The politicians have reacted to Trump like teenagers when someone criticises their hair as ugly. I hope he has opened their eyes.
'The common people don't need Trump to do that. They already understand the ideas I have brought up.'

Ele é jovem, ambicioso e ex-protegido do presidente François Hollande, tendo sido seu ministro da Economia de 2014 a 2016. Emmanuel Macron anunciou nesta quarta-feira (16) sua intenção de entrar na corrida presidencial e pode atrapalhar os projetos de Hollande de concorrer a um segundo mandato.
Foi no ateliê de um centro de formação em Bobigny, subúrbio popular no norte de Paris, que Emmanuel Macron, de 38 anos, lançou sua candidatura.
Considerando a eleição presidencial como "uma oportunidade para avançar", ele afirmou estar consciente da responsabilidade de um presidente e que, por este motivo, resolveu se candidatar. Sem poupar o antigo protetor, François Hollande, ele definiu a França como um país bloqueado por corporativismos de todas as espécies e em declínio, acrescentando que está convencido que "o pior está por vir". " A França não poderá vencer os desafios do século XXI com os mesmos homens e as mesmas ideias", disse, razão pela qual colocou sua candidatura "sob o signo da esperança".
Emmanuel Macron deixou o cargo de ministro da Economia em agosto deste ano e fundou o movimento En Marche! (Em Movimento!) com suas iniciais EM, "nem de direita nem de esquerda", arrancando comentários sarcásticos da classe mais experiente. Ironias à parte, ele reivindica ter 100.000 partidários e uma pesquisa realizada pelo jornal Le Figaro, em setembro, o aponta como mais popular do que o presidente Hollande.
A próxima etapa será conseguir 500 assinaturas de políticos eleitos e obter €9 milhões de financiamento para sua campanha. Até hoje, ele diz ter conseguido €2,8 milhões, bem longe ainda do objetivo fixado. Sem filiação a nenhum partido tradicional, sua capacidade de concretizar o percurso é vista com ceticismo por grande parte da classe política do país; mesmo se as pesquisas indicam que ele tem 14% de intenções de voto no primeiro turno da presidencial, em maio e abril de 2017.
Para os analistas, essa candidatura fratura ainda mais a esquerda francesa, já agonizante, e perturba o jogo da direita, dividida entre o isolamente identitário e a abertura ao centro.
De homem de negócios a presidenciável
Macron fez seus estudos nas mais prestigiosas escolas francesas. Mestrado em Filosofia e, em seguida, a ENA, Escola Nacional de Administração, de onde saíram dezenas de ocupantes de cargos políticos. Aos 24 anos, ingressou no Partido Socialista, mas nunca foi eleito por voto popular.
Na vida pessoal, é tão ousado quanto na política. Charmoso, apaixonado por música, é também um exímio dançarino de tango. Ignorando os preconceitos, casou-se com sua professora de francês em 2007, Brigitte Trogneux, com 24 anos a mais do que ele. Aos 38 anos, já é avô pois sua esposa tem três filhos do primeiro casamento.
Sua carreira fulgurante o levou ao banco de negócios Rothschild, onde fez fortuna, sendo nomeado sócio-diretor depois de quatro anos de trabalho.
É em 2010 que a política abre suas portas para o ambicioso e bem sucedido homem de negócios. Recusando o convite para integra o gabinete do então primeiro-ministro François Fillon (UMP), ele mergulha de cabeça nas primárias socialistas, militando por François Hollande. Entre 2012 e 2014 ele será o secretário-adjunto de Hollande, encarregado do polo de economia e finanças, até chegar ao cargo de ministro da Economia.
