A Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) foi acionada para o Largo da Igreja, na Damaia de Cima, Amadora, após guardas terem de disparar para travar um preso que tentou fuga durante um velório. O homem, de 30 anos, que saiu da cadeia acompanhado por três guardas prisionais para assistir às cerimónias fúnebres que decorriam, foi depois apanhado na Estrada Militar, pela PSP, a cerca de 2 km de distância do local. Manchester Crown Court heard that as she launched the attack in December of last year, Zongo, who was due to be deported two days later, repeatedly shouted ‘I’m not going back’.

After managing to escape, Ms Panahandeh fled into the street covered in blood and with the knife still plunged deep into her neck.

Doctors who treated her said it was ‘miraculous’ that she had survived the attack.
