Tribunal só tem uma sala para três juízas e pequena para megaprocessos. Ministério da Justiça sabe da falta de condições, mas ainda não deu solução - nem resposta
São três as juízas que decidem no Tribunal de Concorrência, Regulação e Supervisão (TCRS) e há meses que fazem julgamentos “contra o tempo”, para evitarem a prescrição de processos que visam a banca e grandes empresas e que valem milhões de euros. Agora, com novos megajulgamentos a caminho, denunciam a falta de condições do tribunal. O caso chegou ao Ministério da Justiça, mas, para já, Francisca Van Dunem não deu solução.
O tribunal especial, que decide sobre as coimas a aplicar a bancos, seguradoras, empresas de telecomunicações ou supermercados, tem apenas uma sala, a dividir pelas três juízas, que têm realizado julgamentos fora do tribunal. Se não o tivessem feito, havia o risco de os processos prescreverem. A pandemia piorou o cenário, mas, argumentam, o problema é permanente e agudizou-se desde setembro. “Só posso fazer julgamentos três vezes por semana e porque as colegas me deram a sala. Isto não é compatível com a grandeza destes processos”, diz ao Expresso Mariana Gomes Machado, a juíza que tem em mãos os julgamentos do Montepio (valor global de €5 milhões), BES Angola, o chamado “cartel da banca” (€225 milhões) ou da CMVM contra a KPMG (€1 milhão).

Black voters showed up in record numbers for Georgia’s Senate runoff election on Tuesday, handing the Democratic Senate candidates Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff decisive victories against the Republican incumbents Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, respectively.
According to the Associated Press, more than 4.4 million votes were cast, about 88% of the number who voted in November’s contest, when turnout was 68 percent overall.
Just weeks after flipping the conservative stronghold in the general election, local strategists and community organizers across the state are being credited with once again galvanizing a voting bloc critical in delivering Democrats’ victory.
“Black runoff turnout was phenomenal and the [Donald] Trump base just couldn’t keep up,” the political analyst Dave Wasserman tweeted shortly after being one of the first to call the race for Warnock.
Tuesday’s win makes the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist church the first Black senator from Georgia and the first in a former Confederate state since Reconstruction. The milestone is considered by some analysts to be a factor in the surge in participation.
